As I was growing up, it seemed that no matter what I did, it wasn't good enough for my Mother. My brother never had that problem with her. I never wanted my Mother to love him less, I just wanted somehow to win her love and approval for me as I was. I tried so hard to please her but it seemed that when she did pay me a compliment there was always a "but" on the end of it. When I displeased her, she would tell me; "I am so ashamed of you!" I never knew what I did for her to be so ashaned of me but she was my Mother so she must be right. In my adult years I thought that was probabky the way my Grandmother punished her. She had an older sister that was the "good" daughter and she died at seventeen and my Mother always felt like she was the black sheep" and that they would have preferred it to have been her that died. I understand that and I have forgiven her and my Grandmother for treating her and me that way. I have never had very much self confidence although with some of the energy programs I have learned that I am very good at it BUT I'm not perfect and I always feel bad because I'm not always successful. My husband in our later years of marriage figured out for himself what my problem was and never failed to tell me how awesome I was and my children have said the same thing, too, but I always felt like they were just looking through the eyes of love. My husband of 56 years passed away a year and a half ago and I live 250 miles from my nearest children so I have learned so much about myself because I have had to do so much on my own. I want to stay here because this is my home and has been for over 35 years. He always told me he had to die first because he couldn't live without me but I could live without him. He actually recognized how strong I really was. My self confidence is growing but I'm not there yet. I have been doing EFT for years now but I guess I mostly have worked on everyone else rather than realize that I need it, too. I did the tapping with her and I did cry as I did it. I have never cried for myself like that before. I cried talking to my youngest son telling him that all of our closest friends have passed away, and another good friend passed away, my daughter's step son-in-law passed away, my brother passed away and I'm the only one left of my immediate family that I grew up with, and on top of that one of my sweet kitties is gone, too. That has been in the last eighteen months. I apologized to him for crying because they had all left me. Very wisely, he told me that what it made me was a surviver and that crying only made me human! Bless his sweet heart. He frequently tell me that I am an awsome Mom and that he is so proud of me.

I agree, us runners should police ourselves and not stand for it. Ive seen this before when a person on a bike was giving motivation to another runner toward the end of a race. A runner next to me began yelling at the biker saying, You cant do that! Thats cheating! The problem in this instance though was that the biker was part of the race officials and was trying to motivate all of the runners and was not a coach. Cheaters never win and winners never cheat. I say lets all be winnersbecause we are.
