Not Going to Happen!

When it comes to settling teacher strikes in BC, binding arbitration has never been considered an option. Teacher demands have always been considered a little too rich and aggressive for the government of the day. Technically, binding arbitration has to be agreed to by both sides and has to offer the prospect of a win-win situation. It just won’t work if both sides are so far apart. The BCTF’s demands (salary and class size) have costed out as around a billion dollars. Lots of luck on that one if the other public sector unions are coming in at zero salary increase.
